Google Unveils Gemini 2.5 Computer Use for Browser Automation

Google has launched Gemini 2.5 Computer Use Preview, a specialized AI model that enables developers to build agents capable of controlling web browsers and mobile applications. The model can click, type, scroll, and manipulate interface elements just like humans do, marking a significant shift in AI automation.

Available through Gemini API on Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, the model operates in a continuous loop where it receives screenshots, analyzes the environment, and generates specific UI actions. The technology performs strongly on web and mobile control benchmarks while maintaining lower latency than competing solutions.

Gemini 2.5 Flash Image Reaches Production Status

Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model has moved beyond preview to production readiness. The advanced image generation tool now supports 10 different aspect ratios and enables users to blend multiple images, maintain character consistency, and perform targeted edits using natural language prompts.

Early adopters like Cartwheel and Volley are already using the model for creative applications. The tool integrates seamlessly with Google AI Studio, allowing developers to build custom image editing apps with simple prompts.

WPP and Google Forge $400 Million AI Marketing Alliance

In a groundbreaking move, advertising giant WPP has committed $400 million over five years to expand its partnership with Google. The deal centers on integrating Google’s AI technologies, including Gemini models, into WPP’s operations through its WPP Open platform.

The partnership aims to transform marketing by enabling real-time personalization at massive scale. WPP will gain early access to Google’s latest AI models, including Veo and Imagen, integrated directly into their workflow. The company reports achieving up to 70% efficiency gains and 2.5x faster asset utilization using these tools.

Transforming Marketing with AI-Powered Solutions

The collaboration includes several key initiatives. WPP’s design company AKQA is developing The Generative Store, which dynamically adapts product visuals and messaging for individual consumers using Google Cloud’s Vertex AI. WPP Media’s Open Intelligence solution will run on Google DeepMind models to build custom audience models with unprecedented speed.

Google is also joining as the primary curriculum partner for WPP’s Creative Technology Apprenticeship program, training over 1,000 creative technologists by 2030. This investment forms part of WPP’s broader commitment of £300 million annually to AI deployment across its business and client services.
